DIY: Googly Eyes

Watch this SNL skit by Christoper Walken.

It's inspired me to put googly eyes on everything. They're a cheap and clever accent.

Music: The Horrors

I listened to The Horrors today for the first time and I am instantly in love with their new cd, Primary Colors. SOOOOOO
GOOOD
CANT
STOP.

!!!! They're coming to the Fillmore (SF) in May. And Nouvelle Vague is going to be at the Warfield in June.

Movie: Tokyo!

A movie of three different vignettes inspired by the city of Tokyo. The movie is 1/3 amazing and 2/3 underwhelming. Go see it even if it's just for Michel Gondry's whimsical story about a couple moving to Tokyo. I think it's being released in limited theaters this week. My friend is in Tokyo right now. I'm so jealous.

Air France- No Way Down

I know this album was from '08, but I am still very much in love with it. It's the perfect soundtrack for a summer evening. So dreamy and lush.

DIY: Illustrate a pillow

Summer nights dream

I’ve dreamt of summer this whole winter. I can’t wait for that perfect indian summer where you can just lay out, read a book, and fly a kite. And if you were in Dreamland, you would be accompanied by a jellyfish, dog, and dinosaur! I made this pillow as a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday. My drawings aren’t the best, but I think there's something very endearing about imperfect, kiddish drawings. So let your inhibitions of your drawing ability and your imagination go and illustrate a pillow.

What you'll need:
  • Blank pillowcase- I bought cheap ones from Ikea!
  • Black fabric marker w/ a thin tip- can be found at any craft store. make sure to wash the pillow first, so that the ink will stick on it
  • Colored fabric marker
  • Pencil/ blue washout pencil- for sketching
